Luxfer LeadCheck™ Swabs
EPA recognizes that when used by a Certified Renovator following manufacturer instructions, the Luxfer LeadCheck™ Instant Lead Test can reliably determine that regulated lead-based paint is not present on wood, ferrous metal (alloys that contain iron), or drywall and plaster surfaces!
Recognized as a valid test kit by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Lead-safe Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) regulations, the 8-swab LeadCheck™ instant lead testing kit from Luxfer provides the convenient lead testing swabs you have been looking for!
LeadCheck™ lead testing swabs are non-hazardous and provide a rapid and specific lead test for any surface. This lead testing kit is the perfect match for all your renovation projects. How will you know if lead is present? It’s simple; the LeadCheck™ swab will turn pink or red on contact with the surface being tested if lead is detected. The time it takes for the color change to occur will vary depending upon the concentration of lead present, but most test situations will produce results in less than 30 seconds. When detecting low levels of lead, or lead chromate containing pigments, the lead testing results may take slightly longer to develop. Each LeadCheck™ kit contains test confirmation cards to verify individual test results and swab functionality.
LeadCheck™ Swabs have been used to detect lead under a wide variety of field conditions. Recognized by the EPA for superior accuracy and sensitivity, LeadCheck™ Swabs have outperformed other lead screening methods in every single government evaluation conducted over the past 15 years when used following manufacturer instructions. **Please note that your state or local municipality may not permit the use of lead testing kits by a lead-safe Certified Renovator to determine if your project can be excluded from the Lead-safe RRP Rule requirements. California, for example, does not allow the use of lead testing in this capacity. Always check your state and local requirements prior to purchase and use.**
